Lionel Messi: La Liga Record Is His

On Saturday, November 22nd, Lionel Messi broke the La Liga goals record of 251. This feat was achieved by Telmo Zarra, in the 1950s. Messi scored three goals in Barça's 5-1 win over RCD Espanyol. He was thrown up in the air by his companions, and lights flashed all over the stadium. His 1st goal that broke Zarra's record was a right-footed tap to Neymar's cross. I think what Neymar did was very nice. He could've easily shot and scored for himself but he passed to Messi so he could have the achievement. I think Messi deserved this achievement. After 10 years, players coming and going, Messi, Xavi, Mascherano and Dani Alves were the only ones who never left their team. I have to say this was probably easier for Messi to break this record than it was for Zarra. Zarra didn't have great players beside him, like Messi did. Getting assists from Ronaldinho, Eto'o, Neymar, and other players it was easier for Messi to break this record than Zarra. Messi is a great player with fabulous skills. The quality in his passes and shots is tremendous. He can be against 3 defenders, find the one way to get past them, and score. He can pass very well, and has had 11 assists and 20 goals so far this season.
