Barclays Premier League 2014-2015 Southampton vs. Chelsea

This was a well-fought game. Chelsea, who had gone on a 5 game winning streak since their defeat to Newcastle, takes on Southampton, an underdog team that is in 4th place. The game started off in minute 8 when Fabregas takes a corner. Fraser Forster feels comfortable jumping up to punch it out but fails. John Terry tries to reach Forster's height but the ball hits the wrong side of his head and the abll goes backwards. Then in minute 17 Dusan Tadic gives a high through ball to Sadio Mané. Mané runs down the center and then comfortably chips it over Thibaut Courtois to score the 1st goal. That was a good goal, well-played-out and strong. The lead didn't last too long, though, as Chelsea got a last minute 1st half equalizer. Southampton midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin fouls Diego Costa but he stays strong and passes to Fabregas. Fabregas chips it to Eden Hazard, who evades 3 defenders and takes a shot past Fraser Forster. In minute 55 a common thing happened for Chelsea. Fabregas got booked for diving. Chelsea is known for flopping. Nemanja Matic, Diego Costa, Willian, and now Fabregas have all gotten yellows for diving. It was a clear flop, so the referee did a good job. In minute 87 Schneiderlin gets ssent of for a 2nd yellow card and Southampton lost hope off a victory. The game ended 1-1. My man of the match was Hazard. He scored 1 goal, and dominated the mifield. He traumatized the Southampton defense with exellent passes and dribbles and was a key player in this hard-fought tie.
